Olan U. Hicks (not to be confused with Olan. L. Hicks who was the founder and publisher of the Christian Chronicle newspaper) was an evangelist, debater, author and teacher. For over seventy years he travelled across the United States and other countries proclaiming the gospel and specialized in its application to those who had failed in the area of marriage and family. Most of the books and tracts he wrote dealt with the thorny issues surrounding marriage, divorce and remarriage. He, himself, was happily married to Barbara for 73 years and together they had three children and seven grandchildren. Brother Hicks passed away in 2019 at the age of 91.
