About BibleTalk.tv

Here's the story on how the BibleTalk.tv ministry got started.

It all started with Mike Mazzalongo.

In the 1980s, while on Mount Royal overlooking the city of Montréal, Mike had the desire to reach the people of Québec, Canada, with the gospel using the medium of television. He produced a French Bible-teaching program entitled TéléBible.

After completing that series, Mike went on to produce the first network television program for Churches of Christ in Canada in both English and French. Entitled BibleTalk, the 13-episode show appeared throughout Québec on Sunday mornings.

In the 1990s and 2000s, Mike continued to preach for several different congregations in Canada and the United States. He continued to use media throughout his ministry. In 1996 he produced Inside the Church of Christ, a program that took the viewer inside physical church buildings and showcased the various good works being done by several congregations in the Oklahoma City metro area.

Fast forward to 2006, as Mike was doing mission work in Montréal, Québec, Canada, when his youngest daughter Émilie and her husband, Hal Gatewood (a multimedia developer) moved there and began serving the church. Mike and Hal began filming classes and experimenting with live-streaming services during the cold, snowy Canadian winters that caused many members to miss services. They also began putting their video material online, averaging about 200-300 visits per month in their first year. This was the start of BibleTalk.tv.

The Ministry Grows

Since that time, Mike and Hal have continued to film, produce and develop the platform. Currently there are over 75 series based on Bible books and topics with over 1,500 different pieces of Bible material in three languages.

On YouTube alone, the platform has grown to over 1,000,000 subscribers and surpassed 30 million views in 2023. In addition, there are hundreds of thousands of viewer interactions from the 20+ platforms that also syndicate our BibleTalk.tv material.
