The focus of this lesson is a review of the physical, emotional, and spiritual benefits of faithfulness in marriage. Of special note is God’s plan for marriage as one man for one woman.

What is the basic definition of fidelity as applied to marriage?
The Merriam-Webster online dictionary defines fidelity as, "The quality of being faithful to your husband or wife."
This illustrates the concept of exclusivity in the relationship.
What is complete fidelity?
Faithfulness of mind, body, and intentions. It is a holistic view.
What is lifetime fidelity?
Our faithfulness to our spouse if permanent. Separation is not an option when challenges and changes arise.
What is growing fidelity?
Growing fidelity is ongoing and results from our continued commitment to one another and our marriage covenant. (See Genesis 2:24).
They work together and build upon one another to form a sustained and lifetime committed marriage. Complete and lifetime fidelity are what we want to be. They represent an ideal as well as a goal.
The diagram below illustrates how these three are interrelated to fulfill God's plan for one man and one woman in a permanent marriage relationship.
Marital fidelity is a critical aspect of peace of mind. The absence of doubt and mistrust support our commitment to each other and the growing love we experience.
Mature love, loge that grows over a lifetime allows us to enjoy the sustained pleasure and benefits of the relationship. As life changes, so too does our physical, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual self. They too should mature. Loving someone for a lifetime leads t a closeness they experience with one another.
Joy on earth is another benefit from marital fidelity. It is the joy we experience that flows through the marriage. It is just a small taste of the joy we will experience someday in the presence of God.
Being sexually pure and exclusively committed to our spouse is God's plan and pleases Him. When both partners in the marriage love God, they also commit to one another's spiritual growth and general well-being. As we mature in our relationship with our spouse, so too will our relationship with God. What a joy it will be to stand together in the presence of God.
