Paul begins his epistle by explaining the universality of sinfulness and how it has affected mankind.

Discussion Questions
  1. Paul contrasts the universality of sin with the modern idea of universal salvation or pluralism. Why do you think pluralism is so appealing in today's culture, and how does Romans challenge that view?
  2. Romans 1:18-20 teaches that God has made Himself known through both creation and conscience. How have you personally seen or experienced these two witnesses in your own life or in conversations with others?
  3. The lesson describes the downward progression of sin: theological fall, philosophical fall, and moral fall. Where do you see evidence of this cycle in today's society, and how should the church respond?
  4. Throughout history, God has interrupted mankind's downward spiral with renewal and revival. What are some modern examples where you think God may be intervening today, either globally or personally?
  5. The summary reminds us that despite cultural change and human failure, only Jesus Christ saves. How can this truth shape the way we live and witness in a world that often embraces pluralism and moral relativism?
