  1. Describe a "hard time" that you have experienced in your life and how you came through it.
  2. In your opinion, why does God allow believers to suffer for long periods of time before answering their prayers for relief?
  3. What purpose did Jesus' suffering before He died serve? Could He not have been executed quickly and accomplished the same things with His death?
  4. Describe a person you know who has inspired you with how they suffered through hard times.
  5. What is your greatest fear concerning suffering and death? Why so? How can God help you with this?
