Welcome
Good Morning and welcome to the Church of Christ. May God richly bless you for your dedication to worshipping Him.
So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.
- Romans 10:17
This is a place where God's Word is preached and taught and as a result your faith is going to increase. The benefits of strong faith are beyond measure. Think about what the people in the Bible were able to see and accomplish because they had strong faith.
When you read Hebrews 11, you see that 19 of its 33 verses start off with "by faith." Also, many Bible characters were not well educated, nor influential in their own society, but they performed and witnessed amazing feats because of faith. Paul told the church in Corinth,
For consider your calling, brethren, that there were not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble;
- I Corinthians 1:26
He goes on to remind them of the tremendous spiritual victories they were having in that city because of their faith. In and of ourselves we can accomplish so little, but when we allow God to work through us, we accomplish much. For God to work through us we have to trust Him. In other words, we have to have faith.
Faith is not intellectual suicide, but rather a complete confidence that the God who created us cares for us and will accomplish great things in our lives if we turn our time, our finances, our relationships, our talents, our weaknesses, ourselves, over to Him.
When you hold back portions of yourself from the guidance of God, you do so because of lack of faith. Though you may not say so in words, your actions are saying to God, "I do not trust you."
Use this first day of the week as a point of self-evaluation. Make the decision to live a surrendered life. If you have been holding back from the Lord, surrender to Him. Let go and let Jesus take the wheel.
